CHAPTER 334.

CHAP. 335.

An act to divorce Margaret Jones, of the City of Baltimore,
from her husband William P. Jones.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Margaret Jones, of the city of Baltimore, be and she ]
is hereby divorced from her husband William P. Jones, a
vinculo matrimonii.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Margaret Jones
shall henceforth be called and known by her maiden name
Margaret Weems.

CHAPTER 335.

Passed Mar. 17,
1840.

An act to condemn and lay off a lot of ground for a Pub-
lic Landing, through the lands of Howel Powel, on Di-
viding Creek, in Talbot County, and make a Public
Road therein mentioned.
WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, by the petition of sundry citizens of Talbot coun-
ty, that they suffer great inconvenience for want of a pub-
lic landing on Dividing creek, in said county, and a public
road thereto — Therefore,

1840.

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William Trippe, Samuel Stevens and
Solomon Hopkins, be and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners to lay out, survey, mark and bound a piece of
ground of such size and extent as they or a majority of
them, may deem expedient, for a public landing, on the
farm called and known by the name of Howel Powel's
farm, on Dividing creek, in such a form as the nature of
the ground and the convenience of the owner or owners
of said farm, will permit.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commission-
ers, or a majority of them, be and they are hereby autho-
rised to condemn and make public a road, leading from the
Trappe road, through said farm called Howel Powel's farm
to said public landing; provided, that nothing in this act shall
be so construed as to prevent the owner or owners through
whose lands said road may pass, from having the privilege
of keeping a free gate or gates on said road.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said commissioners,
or a majority of them, are hereby directed to return a plat of
said landing and road, when surveyed, marked, laid out
and made public as aforesaid, to the clerk of the county
