CHAP. 287.

Banking forbid.

Rights reserved.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contain-
ed shall be so construed as to authorise or empower said
corporation to issue any note, certificate, token or evi-
dence of debt, to be used as currency; and the right is
hereby reserved to the General Assembly of Maryland at
its pleasure, to alter, amend or annul this act of incorpora-

tion.

CHAPTER 286.

1840.

An act to make valid a Deed from Henry Laman, and Fra-
na his wife, to Jacob Otto.

Deed made va-
lid.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That the deed of conveyance or instrument of writing,
made by Henry Laman, and Frana his wife, to Jacob Ot-
to, dated the thirteenth clay of March, eighteen hundred
and thirty-eight, conveying the following land, being in Alle-
gany county, Maryland, to wit: Addition to Springfield,
and part of a tract of land called Springfield, which said
deed was recorded on the second day of November, eigh-

folio two hundred and forty-seven, two hundred and forty-
eight and two hundred and forty-nine, one of the land re-
cords of Allegany county, is hereby made good and valid to all
intents and purposes, as if the said grantors had been na-
turalized citizens at the time of its execution; provided
however, the same was executed and acknowledged accor-
ding to the laws of this State.

CHAPTER 287.

Passed Mar. 18,
1840.

An act to authorise John Lammott, former Collector in the
Third District of Baltimore County, now part in Car-
roll, to complete his collections.

Authorised to
collect taxes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Lammott, former collector of taxes
in the third collection district in Baltimore county, now
part in Carroll, be and he is hereby authorised and em-
powered to collect any taxes or balances of taxes now re-
maining due to and uncollected by him, in the district
