CHAP. 285.
His duties.

of the Senate, be and he is hereby required to appoint a
suitable person as corder of fire wood in Havre-de-Grace
town, Harford county, whose duty it shall be, when called
upon by any seller or purchaser of any fire wood, to in-
spect and measure the same forthwith, as he in bis judg-
ment may think to be proper and just.

Compensation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the
said corder of fire wood, to charge and receive six cents
and one-fourth of a cent, for each and every cord of fire
wood which he may be called on to inspect and measure,
to be paid by the seller, and on neglect or refusal of the
seller to pay the same, the said corder of fire wood is
hereby authorised to collect the same as other small debts
are collected.

Oath of office.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That before the said corder
shall proceed to inspect and measure any fire wood, he
shall take the following oath: I, A. B. do swear on the
Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that I will inspect and
measure fire wood, without favor or partiality, to the best
of my skill and judgment, so help me God.

An act to incorporate the Superanuated Fund Society of the
Maryland Annual Conference.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, James R. Williams, William Rusk, An-
drew A. Lipscomb, James Hines, John W. Everest, Ed-
ward Foreman, Luther J. Cox, Joseph Sims, Beale H.
Richardson, and others, have formed themselves into
a society, for the laudable purpose of raising and esta-
blishing a fund for the relief of superanuated and disabled
ministers of the Maryland Annual Conference of the Me-
thodist Protestant church, their widows and orphans, to be
applied as specified in the constitution of said society; and
whereas, the above named persons have prayed for
an act of incorporation, that they may the better execute
their intentions; and the legislature of Maryland being de-
sirous to promote such benevolent institutions — There-
fore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by tine. General Assembly of
Maryland, That James R. Williams, William Rusk, An-
drew A. Lipscomb, James Hines, John W. Everest, Ed-
ward Foreman, Luther J. Cox, Joseph Sims, Beale H.
