CHAP. 277.

Formality of
election.

of the same officers, at which all persons shall be entitled
to vote who shall have complied with the terms of mem-
bership, which may be prescribed by the constitution and
by-laws of the corporation; the elections to be in all cases
by ballot, and a majority of the members present being
necessary to a choice; and in case, from informality or oth-
er cause, there shall be a failure to elect all or any of the
said officers, there shall not be, nevertheless, any demise
of the corporation, but the officers elected for the previous
year, shall continue in office, with all the power and au-
thority belonging to them, severally or collectively, until
a new election by a special order of the corporation shall
be had.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force for thirty years from the passage thereof, and if from

any cause this charier shall be declared forfeited by the
proper authorities, or by any other means, the corporation
shall be dissolved, then the possession of the property, es-
tate, funds and revenue of this corporation, of what na-
ture soever, shall by the said forfeiture or dissolution, be
vested in the judges of the orphans' court for the county
of Baltimore, under whose direction the affairs of corpo-
ration shall be settled up, and whatever sum or sums of
money may remain after the payment of all the debts of
the corporation, shall be divided amongst the widows and
children of such of the contributors to the beneficial fund,
as may have died, before such forfeiture or dissolution, in
the proportion in which the said contributors shall appear
to have contributed to the said fund.
