ed according to the laws of this State, and is therefore in-
sufficient to pass the legal title to the land and premises
therein mentioned — Therefore,

CHAP. 246.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the clerk of Cecil county court, be and he
is hereby authorised and directed to record the said deed
among the land records of Cecil county, within six months
from the passage of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That upon the recording of
said deed agreeably to the provisions of this act, it shall
have the same validity and effect to all intents and purpo-
ses, as if it had been regularly acknowledged and duly re-

corded according to law; provided, that nothing herein
contained shall be construed to affect the lights of third
persons, which may have accrued since the date of the
deed, in the property thereby conveyed.

CHAPTER 245.

Proviso.

An act to divorce Lucinda Massey, from, her husband Tho-
mas Massey.

Passed Mar. 12,
1840.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Lucinda Massey, of the city of Baltimore, be and
she is hereby divorced from her husband Thomas Massey,
a vinculo matrimonii.

CHAPTER 246.

Divorce.

An act in aid of the construction of a Stone or other Wharf
at Cambridge, in Dorchester County.

Passed Mar. 14,
1840.

WHEREAS, the citizens of Dorchester county propose

bridge, in said county; and whereas, the said undertaking
will subserve materially the public convenience and inter-
ests; and it is represented that to accomplish this highly
useful object, adequate means cannot be procured, save
through the privilege of a lottery — Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That H. Page, Thomas White, Shadrach
Mitchel, Thomas Breerwood and James Dixon, of Dor-
