CHAPTER 218.

A supplement to an act, entitled an act to authorise the
Commissioners of Cecil County to levy a sum of money
to build a Bridge over Little Elk Creek, in Cecil County,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty
seven, chapter one hundred and eleven.

CHAP. 219.

Passed Mar. 4,
1840.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Cecil county, be and they are
hereby authorised and empowered to levy, at their discre-
tion, the sum of two hundred dollars, on the assessable
property of said county, at their next annual levy, for the
purpose of completing a bridge over Little Elk creek,
near Mackall's mill.

CHAPTER 219.

A further supplement to an act, authorising a Lottery, to
raise a sum of money for building a Masonic Hall, in
Elkton, Cecil County, passed December session, eighteen
hundred and sixteen, chapter one hundred and eighty-
two.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That James Sewall, Adam Whann, Benjamin
Bowen, Hugh Brown, Amor T. Forwood, Francis A.
Whitaker, Benjamin B. Chambers, John J. Heckart and
William McCullough, or a majority of them, be and they
are hereby authorised and empowered to sell the scheme
or schemes of a lottery or lotteries, proposed under the re-
gulations of the original act to which this is a supplement
to any persons whatsoever, and the purchaser or purcha-
sers thereof are hereby empowered to sell and dispose of
the tickets in the said lottery or lotteries, in the city of
Baltimore or any other part of this State, any law or
usage to the contrary notwithstanding; provided, that the
purchaser or purchasers of such scheme or schemes, shall,
before the sale or disposal of any ticket or tickets in said
lottery or lotteries, give bond to the State of Maryland,
in the penalty of twenty thousand dollars, to be approved
by the Governor, conditioned that he or they will well and
truly apply so much of the money arising therefrom, with-
