CHAP. 161.

law of this State, cannot avail himself of the benefit of the
insolvent laws thereof, which requires a residence of sixty
days — therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
'That William Brooke, be and hereby is entitled to the
benefit of the insolvent laws of this State, without the re-
quisition of the sixty days residence in said State, as
presciibed by the laws thereof; provided, said William
Brooke shall in all other respects comply with the insol-
vent laws of Maryland; and provided also, that said Wil-
liam Brooke shall be compelled to file his petition for the
benefit of the said laws before the appropriate tribunal, iu
the city of Balcimore, before his discharge, and shall sa-
tisfy said tribunal that he did not come into this State with
a view of obtaining the benefit of the insolvent laws
thereof.

r SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
t Maryland, That the allowance or pay for taking a con-
r vict to the Maryland Penitentiary, from Frederick county,
shall be twenty dollars for each convict, to be levied and
paid as other county charges; provided, that in all cases,
where more than one convict shall be taken at the same
time, the allowance shall be fifteen dollars and no more,
for each convict.
