CHAP. 134.

said clerk to the treasurer of the Western Shore for the
use and benefit of the colonization society of the State,
in conformity with the requirements of the act of eighteen
hundred and thirty-three, chapter eighty-seven.

CHAPTER 133.

Passed Jan. 16,
1840.

An act to give Peter W. Gibbons, of Baltimore County,
further time to make his collection.

Time extended.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Peter W. Gibbons, of the first election district of
Baltimore county, be and he is hereby allowed the further
time of twelve months from the passage of this act, to
complete his collections in said district.

CHAPTER 134.

Passed Jan. 16,
1840.

An act to authorise Thomas F. W. Vinson, late Sheriff and
Collector of Montgomery County, and Thomas English,
Trustee of William O'Neal, Junior, late Sheriff and
Collector of said County, to complete their collections.

Empowered to

make collection.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, that Thomas '
F. W. Vinson, late collector and sheriff, and Thomas
English, trustee of William O'Neal, Junior, late sheriff
and collector of Montgomery county, or any subsequent
trustee that may be appointed, be and they are hereby em-
powered to collect all fees, taxes and levies, in the same
manner in which they were severally authorised to do

Provisoes.

whilst they were in office; provided, that if any person or
persons, his, her or their representatives, against whom
any such fees, taxes or levies may have been rendered,
will make oath or affirmation before a justice of the peace,
that the same has been satisfied or paid, that this act shall
not extend to such cases; and provided also, that the pow-
ers conferred by this act, shall not continue in force longer
than the first day of March, eighteen hundred and forty-
one.
