NOVEMBER. LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. CXXVII.

Passed Decem-
ber 25, 1810.

An ACT to authorise the Levy Court of Anne-Arundel County to
assess and levy a sum of money for the purpose therein mentioned.

WHEREAS Califf Warfield, of Anne-Arundel county, by his petition to this general assembly
hath set forth, that he is far advanced in years, blind, and labouring under the infirmities of
old age, which render him incapable of supporting himself and family; and the prayer of the petiti-
oner appearing reasonable, therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of Anne-Arundel
county shall and they are hereby empowered at their levy court annually, so long as they shall see
cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Califf Warfield, and that the same be
collected annually by the collector of Anne-Arundel county, and by him paid to the said Califf War-
field, or his order.

CHAP. CXXVIII.

Passed Decem-
ber 25, 1810.

An ACT authorising Philemon C. Blake, late Sheriff of Queen-
Anne's County, to complete his collection.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the said Philemon C. Blake be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to collect, until the first day of January, eighteen hun-
dred and twelve, all balances due him as sheriff of Queen-Anne's county, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and eight, in the same manner as he could or might have done within the time limitted by law,
any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

II. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the said Philemon C. Blake, before he
proceeds to execute or distrain the property of any person or persons for public dues in virtue of
this act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previ-
ous to levying such execution or distress, an account, written in words at full length, of the public
dues demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed, if required, that he hath not re-
ceived any part thereof, nor any thing as security or satisfaction for the same, more than credit
given, to the best of his knowledge.

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Philemon C. Blake before he derives any benefit from
or under this act, shall lodge a copy of his collection books in the clerk's office of Queen-Anne's
county, to be opened for the inspection of all persons interested in the same.

CHAP. CXXIX.

Passed Decem-
ber 25, 1810.

An ACT for the benefit of John Parker, of Worcester County.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Worcester county are hereby authorised and empowered, and they shall at their next levy
court, and at their levy court annually, so long as they shall see cause, to levy on the assessable
property of said county a sum of money not exceeding thirty dollars, for the support and mainte-
nance of John Parker of said county, and the same shall be collected and paid, over to said John
Parker, or his order, in the same manner as other county charges are collected and paid in said
county.

CHAP. CXXX.

Passed Decem-
ber 25, 1810.

An ACT for the relief of Lewis J. Dugas, an insolvent debtor.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the judges of Baltimore county court
be and they, or any one of them, are hereby authorised and directed, to extend to Lewis J.
Dugas the benefit and relief of the act of assembly, passed at November session, eighteen hundred
and five, entitled, An act for, the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, and the supplements thereto,
without compelling him to obtain the assent of two thirds in amount of his creditors, in the same
manner, and upon the same conditions, as if he had obtained the assent of two thirds of his creditors
to his release under the same.

CHAP. CXXXI.

ber 25, 1810.

An ACT for the relief of George Stine, of the City of Baltimore.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That upon the application of George
Stine to the judges of Baltimore county court, or to any one of them, during the recess of
