CHAPTER 75.

A supplement to an act, entitled an act, relative to the
Jail of Baltimore City and County, passed December
session eighteen hundred and thirty one, chapter fifty
eight.

CHAP. 76.

Passed Feb. 23,
1839.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That there shall be annually hereafter ap-
pointed seven Visitors of Baltimore, city and county
Jail, four of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, in the manner other
city officers are now appointed, and three by the com-
missioners of Baltimore county, at such time as to
them shall seem expedient.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said visitors
so appointed shall have and exercise all the powers,
and shall perform all the duties in relation to the jail
of Baltimore city and county, which are authorised
and required by the act of December session eighteen
hundred and thirty one, chapter fifty eight, entitled an
act, relating to the jail of Baltimore city and county.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That so much of the act
of December session eighteen hundred and thirty one,
chapter fifty eight, which is inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 76.

Repealing clause.

An act for the relief of John Stone.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Commissioners of Tax of Carroll county, be
and they are hereby authorized and directed, at their
next annual meeting, and so long as they shall there-
after see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county, for the use of John Stone, a
superannuated man, the sum of twenty dollars, payable
to John A. Byers, or his order.

Passed Feb. 23,
1839.

Levy $20 annually.
