The Governor authorised to negotiate

with the Executive of the United States

for the surrender of the stock of the, be-

longing to the U. S. and the cities of

Washington, George Town and Alexan-

dia, on conditions of this State finishing

the, to Cumberland.

In case of such surrender, then to offer

50 per cent to individual stockholder

their stock in the payable in State bonds

or certificates of stock,

In case of acceptance, the treasurer

authorised to issue said certificates or bonds,

On acceptance of this act by the com-

pany, and filing said acceptance in due

form, with treasurer W. S. and a guaran-

tee to the State, for payment of interest,

The treasurer authorised to subscribe

$1, 875, 000 to capital stock of the,

And the commissioner of loans in pay-

ment of said subscription, shall issue to

the, sterling bonds or certificates of

stock, redeemable in London.

But shall not issue more than that

amount the present year.

The company shall, by lien on its pro-

perty and revenues, secure to the trea-

surer W. S. the interest for the stock

created by this act semi annually, ninety

days before 1st January and July, with

cost of transporting the same to London

and also the difference of exchange,

of the treasurer, bonds or certificates

equivalent thereto.
