CHAP. 59.
Estate and proper-
ty.
|
and the said corporation shall be able and capable in
law to purchase have and enjoy to them and their suc-
cessors in fee or less estate, any estate, library, philo-
sophical, chemical, and astronomical apparatus, min-
erals, shells, birds, busts, engravings and paintings,
within this State, by gift, bargain, sale, alienations,
release or confirmation, of any person or persons, bo-
dies corporate or politic, capable to make the same,

May alien, &c.

and such lands, tenements, library, philosophical,
chemical and astronomical apparatus, minerals, shells,
birds, busts, engravings and paintings, or any less es-
tate, rights interests of, or in the same, as at their
pleasure, to grant, alienate, sell and transfer, in such
manner and form as they shall think meet and conve-
nient for the furtherance of the object of said society;

Limit $5, 000.
|
Provided, that the clear annual income of all such es-
tate and property shall not exceed five thousand dol-
lars.
|
|
|
Right to repeal, &c.
reserved.
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the Legislature may
at any time repeal this act, when they may deem such
repeal beneficial to the community.

An act to change the name of Sudler's Cross Roads, in
Queen Anne's county to that of Sudlersville.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, considerable inconvenince has resulted
to the people of Sudler's Cross Roads and the neigh-
bourhood, from its similarity to the names of other post
towns in the United States: — Therefore,
|
|
|
Name changed.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of Sudler's Cross Roads, in Queen
Anne's county be changed, and that in future it shall
be called and known by the name of Sudlersville.
