Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
contained shall be construed to apply to the city of
Baltimore.

An act entitled, a supplement to an act, for the promo-
tion of Education, in Somerset County.
|
|
|
Seven trustees of
Education to be
annually appoint-
ed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners for Somerset coun-
ty, be, and they are hereby empowered and directed
to appoint on, or before the first Monday of June next,
children for Somerset county, and shall notify each
trustee of his appointment; and in case of the death,
resignation, removal, or disqualification of any of
said trustees, then, and in that case, the said commis-
sioners shall proceed to fill up said vacancy, or va-
cancies.

of poor children.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees, or
a majority of them, as soon as convenient after their
appointment, shall make a census of the poor children
in the election district of which they are trustees, of
the proper age to go to school, describing their names,
ages and sex, whose parents are unable to pay for the

ported to the commissioners of said county, as soon as
may be by said trustees, and filed and recorded in the
