An act to incorporate the St. Michael's Silk Company,
in Talbot County.

Persons incorporat-

ed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Joseph Bruff, James B. Way, Thom-
as Auld, John Harper, and such other persons as are
now or may hereafter become associated with them,
shall be and they are hereby incorporated and made a

tle, of the St. Michael's Silk Company, for the purpose
of promoting the growth and culture of the mulberry
tree, and the manufacture of Silk, and the prosecution
of all such other operations as may grow out of or be
connected with the said business, and the-said corpora-
tion, under the name, style, and title, aforesaid, here-
by is invested with all the rights, privileges and pow-

ers conferred upon such companies, by an act, entitled

poration of manufacturing and mining companies, pas-
sed the twenty-eighth day of March, eighteen hundred
and thirty-nine, and is also hereby made subject to the
restrictions and regulations prescribed in said act.

Capital stock—

shares—estate.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of
said company shall not be less than five thousand dol-
lars, nor more than fifty thousand dollars, to he divi-
ded into shares of twenty dollars each, to be raised by
subscription, and that said company shall have the
right to purchase and hold land, not exceeding eight
hundred acres, in Talbot county.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That this act shall be in
force from the passage thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Jacob Charles, and William Stack, of
Caroline county, and Dr. John W. Conaway, of Dor-
chester county, and all such other persons as may be
