SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
it shall be the duty of the sheriff of Allegany county to

notice in such district, or districts, prior to said elec-

prior to an annual election, in which case the annual
shall supercede the necessity of said special election,
and that said elections shall be held by the judges of
the several election districts when, such vacancy shall
occur; and the same shall be held in the manner pre-
scribed by the act to which this is a supplement.

Exception.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the cost of said
special elections shall be levied upon, and paid by the
county, as in other cases of election in said county.

the commissioners is hereby qualified, to hold his said
office by virtue of this act, until the close of the April
