CHAP. 219.

CHAPTER 218.

1839.

An act to repeal the fourth section of an. act, entitled, a
supplement to the act to incorporate the Farmer's
and Planter's Bank of Baltimore, passed at Decem-
ber session, Eighteen hundred and thirty five, chapter
three hundred and fifteen.

4th sect. 1836, chap.

65, repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the fourth section of an act passed at
December session Eighteen hundred and thirty six,
chapter sixty five, entitled a supplement to the act to
incorporate the Farmer's and Planter's Bank of Balti-
more, passed at December session Eighteen hundred
and thirty five, chapter three hundred and fifteen, be,
and the same is hereby repealed.

Bonus nevertheless.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That if the full amount of
one million of dollars shall not have been subscribed
to the capital stock of said bank, before the tenth day.
of November, in the year Eighteen hundred and forty
two, the said Bank shall nevertheless on that day pay
to the Treasurer, such sum of money, as together with
the sum already paid, and the sums required to be
paid by the provisions of the said act shall amount to
the full sum of thirty seven thousand, five hundred
dollars.

Right to investigate.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Bank in ac-
cepting this act, admits the right of a joint committee
of the two branches of the Legislature of this State, to
inspect the books, papers and concerns of said bank,
at any time or times.

CHAPTER 219.

1839.

An act for incorporating Union Academy, of Queen
Ann's County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, application has been made to this Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, for the passage of a law
to incorporate the Union Academy, in Queen Ann's
county: — Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
