CHAP. 207.

John L. Meekins, Levin Phillips, Sam. Dunnock, John
Griffeth, Rob't. Creighton and John Dunnock, are here-
by authorised to erect a gate on the public road, in dis-
trict number six, in Dorchester county, at or near the
store house of Samuel Dunnock, in said district, and
the said gate shall be erected and kept in a proper con-

dition under the direction and supervision of the-over-
seer of the road, and if the said gate shall at any time
be out of order, it shall be the duty of the overseer of
said road, to notify the said petitioners, or any one of
them, of the fact, and if they shall fail to put said gate
in proper order, as directed by the said overseer, for
twenty days from the date of such notice, the privi-
ledge hereby conferred by this act, shall be forfeited,
and the overseer of said road, is required to remove
said gate from off the public road; provided, that the
levy court of Dorchester county, shall levy upon said

gate, a tax of one dollar and fifty cents, for each and
every year, said gate may be kept upon said road, to
be collected from any one of the persons named in this
act.

An act to promote the improvement of the Drama and
Musical Science in the City of Baltimore.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this Gener-
al Assembly by certain citizens of the City of Balti-
more, that it would greatly tend to the improvement of

the drama and musical science, by granting an act of

incorporation to a company for that purpose, — There-
fore,

SECTION. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Columbus O'Donnell, William
Dickinson, Reverdy Johnson, Charles F. Mayer,
Samuel W. Smith, John P. Kennedy, George G. Belt,
Jacob G. Davis, John B. Howell, Thomas D. John-
son, Joseph Robinson, and all such persons as shall
associate with them by becoming stockholders in the
manner hereinafter provided, their successors and as-
signs, shall be, and they are hereby created and con-
stituted a body politic and corporate, by the name,
