An act to authorise James J. Fisher to bring into the
State of Maryland, from Virginia, a negro slave for
life.
|
Passed Mar. 18,
1839.
|
|
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall and may he lawful for James J. Fisher,
of the city of Baltimore, to bring into the State negro
Daniel, a slave for life, the property of said Fisher;
|
Permission granted.
|
|
|
provided, that within thirty days after such removal
he shall cause to be recorded in" the office of the clerk
negro, so removed; and provided also, that the said
Fisher, at the time of making such record, shall pay
to the clerk of said court, fifteen dollars, to be paid
over to the Treasurer of the Western Shore, for the
use and benefit of the Colonization Society of the
State.
CHAPTER 194.

Proviso.
|

An act to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
county, to build a Bridge over the Great Falls of
Gunpowder, where the county road leading from
Middletown to the Falls Road, crosses said Falls in
Baltimore county.
|
Passed April 2,
1839.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall he the duty of the commission-
ers of Baltimore county, to levy upon the assessable
property of said county, within eighteen months from
the passage of this act, five hundred dollars, for the
purpose of building a bridge over the Great Falls of
Gunpowder, where the county road leading from Mid-
dletown to the Falls road, crosses said Falls, at or near
the farm of Jacob Shimberger, in said county.

Levy $500.
|

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of said county, shall not advance any part or portion
of the sum appropriated until the completion of said
bridge, and if any part of the said appropriation, be un-
expended, the same shall remain in the treasury of said
