WILLIAM GRASON, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1838.

Jeremiah Berry, jun., which certificate has been omit-
ed to be compounded on within the time prescribed
by law, and the State would gain nothing by compell-
ing the said John Davis to survey the same again: —
Therefore,

CHAP. 155.

Be it enacted by of the General Assembly Maryland,
That John Davis be allowed thirty days from the pas-
sage of this act, to compound on the said certificate

by making said certificate as valid, as if the same had
been compounded on within the time limited by law,

CHAPTER 155.

Patent to issue.

An act to repeal the fourth section of an act entitled, a
supplement to the act to incorporate Emmittsburg, in
Frederick County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the fourth section of an act passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one,
chapter one hundred and seven, entitled a supplement
to the act, entitled an act to incorporate Emmittsburg,
in Frederick county, be, and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

4th Sec. act 1831,
ch. 107, repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That in case of death, re-
fusal, disqualification, resignation, or removal of the
burgess out of the limit's of the corporation, that the
commissioners have full power to appoint a burgess in
case of vacancy for the remainder of the time for
which he was to serve, or was elected.
