county, shall on the first day of May next, or at their
next meeting thereafter, and on the same day, in each

and every year thereafter, appoint five persons, one
from each election district of said county as a board of
commissioners of. the school fund of said county, and

that all vacancies which may occur in the year for
which the commissioners may be appointed, shall upon
phan's court, be filled by said court, from the election
district, in which said district vacancy or vacancies
occur or occurs, and if at any time the said Orphan's

court should neglect to appoint the said board on the
day and at the time provided in this act for the appoint-
ment of the same, then the old board shall continue in
office, until a new one shall be appointed as aforesaid.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said board of
commissioners, be and they are hereby authorized to
require of the board of commissioners of the school
fund for Queen Anne's county, existing previous to
this act, to deliver to them all books and papers rela-
ting to the business and transaction of said board, and
to pay over to them whatever portion of the school
fund may be in their hands, as well as to transfer to
them whatever funds may have been invested by them;

and that the Treasurer of the Western Shore, be au-
thorized to pay annually to the board of commission-
ers created by this act, such sum or sums, as he has
heretofore been required to pay to the commissioners
of the school fund, existing prior to the passage of this
act, for the purpose of education in said county.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the present board
shall cease to exist and expire on the last day of May
next.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of
acts, which are inconsistent or repugnant to this act,
be and the same are hereby repealed.
