1808.

II. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the said Benjamin Ray, before he proceeds
to execute or distrain the property of any person or persons for taxes or public dues in virtue of this
act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previous to
levying such execution or distress, an account, written in words at full length, of the taxes or pub-
lic dues demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed, if required, that he hath not re-
ceived any part thereof, nor any as security or satisfaction for the same, more than credit given,
to the best of his knowledge.

LXII

To deliver an
account, &c.

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Benjamin Ray, before he derives any benefit from or
under, this act, shall lodge a copy of his collection books in the sheriff's office of Montgomery county,
to be opened for the inspection of all persons interested in the same.

CHAP. LXIII.

Books to be
lodged, &c.

An ACT to authorise and empower the levy court of Baltimore coun-
ty to assess and levy a sum of money for the support and mainte-
nance of Richard Bond.

Passed 23d of
Dec. 1808.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of Baltimore county
shall be and they are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court, annually, so long as
they shall see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property of said county a sum of money,
not exceeding thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Richard Bond, and that
the same be collected annually by the collector or collectors of Baltimore county, and paid to such
person, for the use of said Richard Bond, as the levy court of said county shall or may direct.

CHAP. LXIV.

Court to levy
money, &c.

An ACT to enlarge the powers of the trustees of the poor in So-
merset county.

Dec. 1808.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the trus-
tees of the poor in Somerset county, and they are hereby authorised and empowered, in their
discretion, to keep any number of out-pensioners, and to allow each of such pensioners an annual
pension, not exceeding thirty dollars, to be paid at such time or times as they shall direct.

CHAP. LXV.

Trustees may
keep out-pen-
sioners, &c.

An ACT for the support of John Richards, of Montgomery county.

WHEREAS John Richards, of Montgomery county, by his petition to this general assembly,
has set forth, that he is far advanced in age, and being much afflicted with a dropsical habit,
and other bodily infirmities incident to old age, which renders him incapable of providing for himself
any longer, and praying that some relief may be grunted him out of the poor-house; and the facts
stated in his petition appearing true, therefore,

Preamble.

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Montgomery county shall, and they are hereby empowered, at their levy court annually, so long as
they shall see cause, to assess and levy, on the assessable property of said county, a sum of money,
not exceeding thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said John Richards, and that
the same be collected annually by the collector of Montgomery county, and by him paid to the said
John Richards,, or his order.

Justices to levy
money, &c.

An ACT for the benefit of the children of Isaac Lansdale, deceased,
of Prince-George's county.

Dec. 1808.

WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assembly, by the petition of Elizabeth Lans-
dale, widow, and Clement Brooke, administrators of Isaac Lansdale, deceased, of Prince-
George's county, that the said Isaac Lansdale died intestate, indebted to a considerable amount, and
possessed of a very valuable tract of land in Prince-George's county, and several trails of land in
Saint-Mary's county, together with a large personal estate, leaving three children, Isaac Lansdale,
Kitty Lansdale and Elizabeth Mary Lansdale, who are minors: And whereas it is also represented,
that the interests of the said minors would be greatly promoted by the sale of the lands in Saint-
Mary's county for the benefit of the creditors, therefore,
