CHAP.
XCV1II.

aforesaid, and they being released accordingly by a resolution in their favour, and it being but
right that the certificate and the land therein mentioned to be revested in the state of Maryland,
therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That a certificate of a survey of a tract
of land called Bones Meadows, lying in Allegany county, dated the eleventh day of May, seventeen
hundred and ninety seven, for twenty-two thousand and twenty acres of land, be and the same is
hereby, and the lands therein and thereby included, be and the same are hereby revested in the
state of Maryland, and that the said land, or any part thereof, shall not be liable to be taken up,
acquired or affected, by any person whatever, in virtue of any species of warrant whatever, until
the legislature of Maryland shall hereafter make provision for disposing of the same.

CHAP. XCIX.

Passed 20th of
January, 1808.

A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act authorising the proprietors
of the French-town and New-Castle water and land stages to open
a road from French-town, in Caecil county, to intersect the divi-
sional line between this state and the state of Delaware, at a road
laid out by the commissioners of New-Castle county, in the state
of Delaware.

B IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the commissioners appointed by the
second section of the act to which this is a supplement, be authorised to lay out and open a road
from French-town, on the most suitable ground, and in the straightest direction, to meet at the De-
laware line such road as will be laid out in the state of Delaware from the village of Glas-
go towards French town, at the expense of the proprietors of the French-town and New-Cas-
tle water and land stages; provided, that the said road shall not be laid out through the garden,
yard, meadow or orchard, of any individual, without his or her consent first had and obtained in
writing.

to run their wa-
gons, &c.

II. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the proprietors of any water and land-stages, in opposition tor
the French-town and New-Castle water and land-stages, shall not run their wagons or stages, or
wagons or stages employed by them, on the aforesaid road when completed, without first. paying half
of all the damages assessed, and expenses of opening and making said road, and shall also pay a, pro-
portional part towards keeping the said road in good repair.

CHAP. C.

Passed 20th of
January, 1808.

An ACT for the opening of Bridge-street, in the precincts of the
city of Baltimore.

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of sundry inhabitants of
Baltimore city and county, that the passage of Bridge-street is greatly obstructed by a brick
house belonging to a certain Henry Zegler, situate on the point where said street forms an angle
with the Harford road, in the precincts of said city, and the said Henry Zegler having consented to
relinquish all his right, title and interest, of, in and to, the said house and lot, upon his receiving
the sum of one thousand pounds, and praying a law may pass authorising the removal of the said
house. for the opening of said street, and the said petition appearing reasonable and highly conducive
to public convenience; therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Thomas Dickson, Thomas M'El-
derry, John Hillen, Samuel Vincent and Aquila Miles, be and they are hereby appointed commis-
sioners, and they, or a majority of them, are hereby invested with full and ample power to remove
the said house belonging to the said Henry Zegler, upon the payment of one thousand pounds cur-
rent money to the said Henry Zegler, for the damage sustained by him in consequence of the re-
moval of his house as aforesaid.

III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners, or a majority of them, are hereby au-
thorised to receive subscriptions for the purpose of defraying the expenses incurred by the opening
of said street; provided, that if the full amount of said expenses shall not be raised by subscription,
