CHAPTER 126.
An act for the benefit of Henry M. Jamison of Virginia.

Benefit of H.
M. Jamison.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of insolvent debtors for the city
and county of Baltimore, or any judge of the Orphan's
Court in this State, be and they are hereby authorised to
grant to Henry M. Jamison, 'a former resident of Mary-
land, the benefit of the several acts of assembly, for the

relief of insolvent debtors. Provided, the said Henry M.
Jamison shall in all other respects (except that of proving
residence, ) comply with the requisitions of said acts of
assembly, and that he satisfy the commissioner or judge,
upon oath, that he did not come into this State with the view
of obtaining the benefit of said laws.

CHAPTER 127.

An act to authorise Philip Pettibone, late collector of the
second collection district of Anne Arundel county, to com-
plete his collection of county taxes in said district.
|
Authorised to
collect.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Philip Pettibone, late collector of the
second collection district of Anne Arundel county, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to collect any taxes
or balance of taxes now remaining due to, and uncollected
by him, in the district aforesaid, in the same manner and with
the same power and privileges as are now allowed by the

existing laws in said cases made and provided.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Philip
Pettibone, shall in all cases, before he proceeds to collect
said taxes, make affidavit before a justice of the peace, of
Anne Arundel county, that the said taxes are due, and that
he has not received the same, or any part thereof other
than the credit given.

In force one
year.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this law shall be in
force one year and no longer.
|
