are hereby authorized and required to place Thomas Mag-
ness, senior, of said county, upon the list of out-pensioners
and to levy for his use, and pay over to him, the sum of
twenty-five dollars annually.

CHAPTER 103.

 

An additional supplement to an act, entitled, an act to incor-
porate the Stockholders of the Franklin Bank of Baltimore.

Whereas, at a general meeting of the stockholders of
the Franklin Bank of Baltimore, convened conformably to
its charter, the president and directors were requested to
apply to the general assembly for an alteration of its char-
ter reducing the number of directors to eight, and said
president and directors have prayed the passage of such

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That at the election for directors in April next,
and at every subsequent election, the stockholders shall
elect eight directors instead of the number prescribed by
the original charter.

directors shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of
business, but ordinary discounts may be made by the pre-
sident and three directors.

CHAPTER 104.

 

An act to allow William O'Chappell, of Montgomery Coun-
ty, late Sheriff, and Collector, further time to complete his
collections.

Passed Feb.
15, 1844.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Wm. O'Chappell, late sheriff and collector of
Montgomery county, by himself or any person or persons
by him appointed for this purpose, is and are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to collect until the last day of
December eighteen hundred and forty-five, all sums and
balances clue him as sheriff and collector of Montgomery
county, in the samp manner which the said William O'Chap-
pell could or might have done within the time limited by
law, any thing to the contrary notwithstanding.
