Sec. 3. Be it enacted, That for the management of
the affairs of the company, the stockholders shall elect a
president and not less than three directors, who shall remain
in office for one year, or until successors shall be elected, a
majority of whom shall form a quorum or board, that a
majority of stockholders shall at any time call a meeting
upon advising all the stockholders, by advertisement or
otherwise, of the time and place of holding said meeting.

CHAP. 61.

Sec. 4. Be it enacted, That the stock of the said
company shall be deemed personal estate, that all the pro-
perty, estate and joint, stock of the corporation shall be
bound and answerable for its debts or liabilities.

Sec. 5. Be it enacted, That nothing contained here-
in shall be construed as granting banking privileges to
said corporation, or exempting their property and effects
from general taxation.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the legislature reserves
to itself the right to alter or annul this act of incorporation
whenever the public interest may require it.

CHAPTER 61.
|

An act to provide for the building of a bridge over the
Patuxent river, at the place called the Fork of Patuxent.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of the tax for Anne
Arundel county, be and they are hereby authorised and
directed to assess and levy on the assessable property of
Anne Arundel county, any sum not exceeding four hundred
dollars, which sum shall be levied, collected and paid over
to the commissioners appointed by this act, as other charges
are.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That George A. Barber,
Richard W. Higgins and Caleb White, be and they are
hereby appointed commissioners, and they or a majority of
them, are hereby authorised and required to cause a bridge
to be built of good and substantial materials, across the
Patuxent river, at or near the place called the Fork of Patux-
ent, and they are hereby directed, after giving thirty days
public notice thereof, at two or more public places, to set
up the building of said bridge to the lowest bidder, and the
said commissioners or a majority of them, shall require a
bond with good and sufficient security, from the person
making the lowest bid, faithfully to build and keep in repair
the said bridge for ten years.
