when the State of Maryland is the real plaintiff, it may sue
and recover upon said bond like any private person, for
whose use any part of the county levies have been made.
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
Washington county, be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered to take any other bond which may be deemed
necessary to secure the State and county, and all persons
interested in the county levies, for the taxes collected by
the said collector at the date of such bond, or to be collected
by him; which bond shall be liable to be put in suit like
any other collectors bond.

An act to incorporate the Har Sinai Verein Society of the city
of Baltimore.

Whereas Samuel Delevie, Sam'l Wolf, W. Wolf, Simon
Rosenthal, B. Greenfelder, Simon Eytinge, Samuel Pike,
Lawrence Lawman, Isaac Lowman, A. T. Watchman, Wm.
Moser, Simon Frankenstein, Max. Sutro, Joseph Lavie,
M. Bettman, Moses utzler, Joseph Simpson and others,
have formed themselves into a society, under the name and
style of Har Sinai Venn Society of the city of Baltimore,
for the purpose of cultivating an acquaintance among the
Hebrews of said city and for their mutual improvement in
moral and religious knowledge. Therefore,

Preamble.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the aforesaid members of the said society
as well as those who hereafter, according to the constitu-
tion and by-laws of the said society shall become members
of it, be and they are hereby created and made a corpora-
tion and body politic, by the name and style of Har Sinai
Verein Society of the city of Baltimore, and by that name
shall have succession and be capable in law, of purchasing,
holding and selling both real and personal property, as

other corporations may do by law, provided, the value of
property held at any one time shall not exceed in value the
sum of five thousand dollars, and to sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded, and to make, have and use one common
seal, and the same to alter at their pleasure; and generally
to do all acts and things which may be necessary to carry
into effect the object of the said corporation.
