have appointed assessors of, &c. as directed

by act of 1841, ch. 325, section 3, and the

declaratory act of 1842, ch. 294, and said

assessors shall not have qualified on or be-

fore 1st day of May, in that case Governor

authorised to appoint &c, and assessors so

appointed, after having qualified as pre-

scribed, by original act, shall proceed by

assessing, within their districts &c, and

make return as prescribed in 7th section of

original act, within two months from time

of appointment,
