CHAPTER 331.

CHAP. 314.

An act to regulate the itenerant charges of members elect
of the General Assembly of Maryland and Jor other
purposes.

Passed March
9, 1844.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, the
following sums shall be allowed and paid out of the Trea-
sury of the State to the members of the General Assembly
from each and every county, for travelling to and from the
seat of government, at each and every session of the legis-
ture of said State, viz: from Saint Mary's county, fifteen
dollars; Kent, sixteen dollars; Anne Arundel, four dollars;
Calvert, nine dollars; Charles, thirteen dollars; Baltimore
county, nine dollars; Talbot, fifteen dollars; Somerset,
twenty-four dollars; Dorchester, nineteen dollars; Cecil,
nineteen dollars; Prince George's, nine dollars; Queen
Ann's, fifteen dollars; Worcester, twenty-eight dollars;
Frederick, fifteen dollars, Harford twelve dollars; Caro-
line, nineteen dollars; Baltimore city, eight dollars; Wash-
ington, twenty dollars; Montgomery, twelve dollars;
Allegany, thirty-four dollars; Carroll, twelve dollars.

Itenerant
charges.

Seo. 2. Be it enacted, That no officer of this House
shall be allowed travelling charges.
Sec. 3. Be it enacted, That all laws inconsistent with
this act, shall be and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 332.

 

An act for the releif of certain mechanic's and others of
Howard District of Anne Arundel county.

Passed March
9, 1844.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the com-
missioners of Howard District, to levy upon the assessable
property in said district, the sum of eight thousand dol-
lars, to be applied in payment of the existing claims for

ers to levy.

of said district, provided, that no greater sum than two
thousand dollars shall be levied in any one year; and pro-
vided also, that no levy for any part of the sum hereby
authorised to be levied, shall be made, until one year after
