CHAPTER 321.

Passed March
9, 1844.

An act relating to supersedeas of judgments rendered by
justice of the peace.

To be signed
in person.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That whenever any supersedeas shall hereafter be
taken by any justice of the peace of this State, and the
same shall be entered on the docket of said justice, or upon
the judgement, it shall only be necessary for such super-
sedears, to be signed by the securities thereto, or when-
ever any securities shall be incapable of writing, their
marks in lieu of signatures shall be affixed; and no such
supersedeas shall be valid in law against any security unless
his signature or mark shall have been affixed thereto, and
attested by the justice of the peace.

 

CHAPTER 322.

9, 1844.

An act to authorise the commissioners of Harford county to
build a bridge over Winter's Run, at Butt's mill in said
county.

Commission-
ers to levy.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Harford county, be and they are
hereby authorised if in their discretion they deem the same
proper and expedient, to build a bridge over Winter's Run
at the ford near the mill of John E. Bull in said county, and
to levy therefor any sum not exceeding four hundred dollars.

CHAPTER 323.
An act to create a new election district in Frederick county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John T. Schely, Charles H. Burkhart and
George Schlosser, be and they are hereby authorised and ap-
pointed or a majority of them, commissioners to lay off a new
election district, out of those parts of the Creagerstown and
Frederick election districts, contiguous to each other, and
to make choice of a place in the said new election district,
so laid off at which the election shall be held, having due
regard to the accommodation of persons attendant upon
