CHAPTER 282.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to incorporate the
Maryland Steam Boat Company.

Company may
enlarge capi-
tal stock.

Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Maryland Steam Boat Company, be
and it is hereby authorised to enlarge its capital stock for
the purpose of repairing or renewing the Steam Boat
Maryland, or of purchasing or building any new boat or
boats, to be employed in the service of the said company;

Proviso.

provided, the funds of the said company shall not exceed
five hundred additional shares of one hundred dollars each.

Books and
accounts may
be kept on
cither snore.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the books and accounts
of the said company may, at the option of the directors of
said company, be kept either on the Eastern or Western
Shore.

 

CHAPTER 283.

8, 1844.

An act entitled a supplement to an act entitled, an act to in-
corporate the town of Havre-de- Grace.

Preamble.

Wheeeas the act incorporating the town of Havre-de-
Grace, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
forty, chapter two hundred and sixty-seven, included the
farms of James A. Gover, John Mitchel, Hoit and Coster,
Bernard Mitchell, Washington P. Chew and Philip Land-
dale, being part of a tract of land known by the name of
Rupulta, which is now subject to taxation by the town
authorities for the purposes of said town. They thereby

feel themselves aggrieved. Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the farms of James A. Gover, John Mitchel, Hoyt
and Coster, Bernard Mitchell, Washington P. Chew and
Philip Landdale, being a part of a tract above named, be
and the same is hereby exempt from taxation by the autho-
rities of the town of Havre-de Grace, for town purposes.
