be thereafter capable in law to sue and be sued, plead and
be impleaded, answer and be answered unto, defend and

Sec 3. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be
lawful, for the said corporation to make by-laws, and have
a common seal for their use, and the same at their will and
pleasure to change, alter and make anew from time to time
as they may think best, and shall in general have and exer-
cise all such rights, privileges and immunities, as by law
are incident or necessary to corporations, and what may be
necessary to the corporation herein constituted, and to en-
able the members of said order to exercise all things con-
cerning the design of this corporation, for the benevolent
relief of the sick and distressed and for the promotion of
their purposes generally.

To enure for
30 years.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this act of incor-
poration shall inure for thirty years, and that the legislature
hereby expressly reserves to its self the right to change,
alter or annul this act of incorporation at any time.

 

CHAPTER 236.

Passed March
4, 1844.

An act to incorporate the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal
Church, in the town of Vienna, in Dorchester County.

Incorporated.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Geo. A. Z. Smith, Samuel Webb, Thomas J. Hodson,
Samuel Keys and Francis Webb, recently elected trustees
of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Vienna, in Dorches-
ter county, are hereby declared to be duly elected trustees
in behalf of the said church, and all deeds, gifts, or endow-
ments heretofore made to any trustees in behalf of said
church, shall be construed to operate in favor of the before

mentioned persons as effectually, as if they had been exe-
cuted directly to them; provided, that the said church and
trustees, or their successors, as soon as may be after the
passage of this act, comply with the provisions and direc-
tions of the act, passed December session eighteen hundred
and two, chapter one hundred and eleven.
