CHAPTER 190.

CHAP. 191.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act for the
incorporation of the Washington Lodge, number one, of
the Order of Independent Odd Fellows of the State of
Maryland, passed at December session eighteen hundred
and forty-two.

28, 1844.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the style and title of Washington Lodge, number
one, of the Order of Independent Odd Fellows incorpo-
rated by the act to which this is a supplement, shall and
is hereby declared to be Washington Lodge, number one,
of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows; and that so
much of the act to which this is a supplement as is in-
consistent therewith, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 191.

 

An act for the incorporation of Union Lodge number six-
teen, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Passed Feb.
28, 1844.

Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William S. Espy, William Colton,
John W. Hall, John W. Croney, William Robertson, Jo-
seph Holt, Edward W. Robertson, Perry Sinclair, Sa-
muel Brady, George Sables, James Bundy and Thomas
Heigenbotham and others, the members of Union Lodge,
number sixteen, of the Independent Order of Odd Fel-
lows, attached to the Grand Lodge of Maryland and their
successors, be and they are hereby incorporated and
made a body politic and corporate, by the name and num-
ber of Union Lodge, number sixteen, of the Independ-
ent Order of Odd Fellows of the State of Maryland, and
by that name may sue and be sued, and have a common
seal, and the same at their pleasure alter, and be entitled
to use the powers and privileges incident to such corpo-
tation.

Incorporated

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation
shall be capable of taking and holding real and personal
estate, not exceeding in value the sum of twenty thou-
sand dollars, which estate shall never be divided among
the members of the corporation, but shall descend to their
