CHAPTER 104.

Passed Feb.
11, 1843.

An act to provide for the appointment of a Flour Inspec-
tor and a Wood-Carder in the Town of Westminster, in
Carroll County

Governor au-
thorised to ap-
point, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the Governor, by and with the advice and
consent of the Senate, be and he is hereby required annu-
ally to appoint in Westminster, in Carroll county, an inspec-
tor of flour, whose duty it shall be to inspect all flour offer-
ed for sale within the limits of the town of Westminster, in
the same manner, and subject to the same rules and regula-
tions in every respect as are now prescribed by law in re-
gard to the inspection of flour in the city of Baltimore, and
Hie said inspector shall be entitled to demand and receive
six and i quarter cents for each barrel of flour, which shall
be inspected by him, from the seller thereof.

To appoint a
Wood-Corder.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That it shall be the duty of
the Governor annually to appoint, by and with the advice
and consent of the Senate, a wood-corder for the town of
Westminster, whose duly it shall be to measure and inspect
all fire-wood offered for sale in said town of Westminster,
in the same manner and subject to the same rules and regu-
lations, in every respect as are now prescribed by law in
regard to the inspection of wood in the city of Baltimore,
and the wood-corder shall be entitled to demand and receive
six and a quarter cents for each cord of wood inspected by
him, from the teller thereof.

 

CHAPTER 105.

10, 1843.

An act for the benefit of Jacob Grove, late sheriff of Car-
roll County.

Allowed to
collect.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Jacob Grove, late Sheriff of Carroll coun-
ty be and he is hereby authorized, to collect all fees and
balances due him, or which may be in his hands for collec-
tion, at any time before the first day of May eighteen hun-
dred and forty-four, and that for said purposes he shall be
entitled to exercise all the powers now vested in Sheriffs by
law.

Allowed to
serve writs.,

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Jacob Grove,
be, and he is hereby authorized, to levy and execute all
