ASSENTED TO BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND,
AT DECEMBER SESSION, A. D. 1842.

Resolution directing the Secretary of State, Treasurer of
the Western Shore and State Librarian, to prepare a
system of Education.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Secretary of State, the Treasurer of the Western
Shore and the Librarian, be authorised and required to pre-
pare from the best authorities, a system or code for the
government of Common Schools, and for the promotion of
general education within the State of Maryland.
Resolved farther, That the librarian be authorised to pur-
chase such books, not now in the library, as may be deemed
necessary for the effectual accomplishment of the object
proposed in the above section.

No. 2.

Resolution in favor of Elizabeth Frazier.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby di-
rected to pay to Elizabeth Frazier of Dorchester county,
widow of Levin Frazier, a lieutenant in the war of the
Revolution, or her order, the half pay of a lieutenant during
her life in quarterly payments, commencing the fifth day of
July eighteen hundred and forty-two; also pay to the said
Elizabeth Frazier or order the arrears of pension due to
her said husband at the time of his death under the resolu-
tion] passed at December session eighteen hundred and
nineteen.
