and the same is hereby relinquished, and the president and
directors of said bank for the time being, are hereby au-
thorized and empowered at such time, and in such manner
as they may think proper to receive subscriptions for the
same, or any part thereof, or to sell and dispose of the
same or any part thereof, but not below the par value of
fifteen dollars per share, as provided by this act, and all
stockholders of said shares, so to be sold or subscribed for,
their executors administrators or assigns shall, and they are
hereby declared to be, from the time of purchase and pay-
ment incorporated into the said company, entitled from that
time to like privileges, and governed by the same rules and
regulations with the original stockholders thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contain-
ed shall have or be of any force or effect unless the presi-
dent and directors of the said bank shall on or before the
first day of May next, file with the governor of Maryland
a resolution authorized by its stockholders in general meet-
ing, and under the corporate seal of the bank, declaring its
acceptance of this act, from and after which time this act,
if accepted, is to have operation and effect.

An act to allow Colmore Offut, of Montgomery county,
to erect Gates on a public road in said county.
|
Authorised to
erect gates.
Proviso.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Colmore Offut, of Montgomery county, be and he is
hereby authorized to erect gates on the public road that
passes through his plantation within the limits of said plan-
tation; provided, that the gates shall be well constructed and
kept in good repair, so as not to impede the travelling on
said road, and they shall not be allowed to remain longer
than two years after the passage of this act.
