CHAP. 290.

of this State, the court shall entertain said appeal although
the transcript or certified copy of the record shall not have
been transmitted within the time required by law, if it
shall appear to the said Court of Appeals that such delay
in transmitting of the transcript of the record was occasion-
ed by the neglect or omission of the register or clerk,
and without default of the party.

 

CHAPTER 289.

Passed March
7, 1843.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, An act to limit the num-
ber of constables in the several Election Districts in Anne
Arundel County, and to increase their fees.

Commission-
ers to appoint
as many as
necessary.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, it
may be lawful for the commissioners of Anne Arundel coun-
ty, to appoint as many suitable persons as constables, in
each election district of said county, as they may in their
discretion deem necessary.

Bond $800.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That from and after the
passage of this act, the bonds of all constables appointed
for Anne Arundel county, shall be taken in the penalty of
eight hundred dollars, instead of the sum now required by
law.
