A supplement to the act to authorize the drawing of a Lot-
tery, to introduce a supply of wholesome Water in the
Town of Port Tobacco, in Charles county.

To be conso-
lidated with
state lotteries.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the lottery authorized to be drawn by the
act to which this is a supplement, shall be consolidated
with the state lotteries, and that the commissioners of lot-
teries of this state are hereby directed to consolidate the
same, and pay to the commissioners named in said original
act or appointed in pursuance thereof, or such of them as
may give bond as herein directed, a ratable proportion semi-
annually of the sum raised by the consolidated lotteries,
until the whole sum authorized by said original act and
supplements thereto, be raised and paid.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the said commis-
sioners or any three or more of them, who are named in, or
who have been, or may hereafter be appointed in pursu-
ance of the said original act and supplements, shall before
they be entitled to receive any money in virtue of this act,
enter into bond to the state with security to be approved
by Charles county court, or one of the judges thereof, in
penalty of ten thousand dollars, with condition that the
said commissioners shall faithfully apply all such sums of
money as they may receive, for the purpose of introducing
a supply of wholesome water in the town of Port Tobac-
co, in Charles county, mentioned in said original act, which
bond when executed and approved, shall be recorded by
the clerk cf Charles county court, within six months from
the date thereof, and an office copy thereof shall be evi-
dence in any suit or action instituted upon the same.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said commis-
sioners so giving bond as aforesaid, may borrow money for
the purpose of introducing a supply of wholesome water in
the town of Port Tobacco, in Charles county, and pledge
the proceeds of said lottery for the same.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of
effecting the object contemplated by the act to which this
is a supplement, and the drawing the said lottery or lotte-
ries, no expense thereof shall in any wise be chargeable to
the State of Maryland
