justice of the peace in and for Allegany county, and that he
took all of the necessary oaths prescribed by law before
the proper officer, and that the copy and certificate of the
oaths taken by said Richard White, were duly forwarded
by mail to the clerks office of Allegany county, but the
same were mis-carried — therefore.

Acts made
valid.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all and every act heretofore performed by said Rich-
ard White, as a justice of the peace, be and the same are
hereby legalized and confirmed, and the same shall be just
as binding and valid as though the said oaths and certificate
of qualification as a justice of the peace of the said Rich-
ard White had been regularly and in due form of law re-
turned to the clerks office of Allegany county.

A supplement to an act entitled, An act to provide for the
election of the Justices of the Levy Court of Frederick
County by the people, passed at December session eighteen
hundred and thirty-eight, chapter two hundred and sixty
one.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the present members of the Levy Court
of Frederick county, elected under the act of December
session eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, chapter two hun-
dred and sixty one, be and they are hereby continued in
office until the election of justices of the Levy Court, as
hereinafter provided.

justice.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That each election district in
Frederick county, shall be entitled to one justice of the
Levy Court, who shall be a resident of the district six
months next preceding his election.

Sixty days re-
sidence in said
district.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the voters in each elec-
tion district in said county, who shall be qualified to vote for
delegates to the general assembly, and shall have resided
sixty days in said election district next preceding the elec-
tion in which they shall offer to vote, shall be entitled to
vote for one justice of the Levy Court for said county as
herein before stated for such district, and the person who
shall receive the largest number of legal votes in his elec-
tion district shall be declared duly elected justice of the
Levy Court of Frederick county for said election district.
