CHAP. 253.

separate corporate charter, and due notice given of the same
to the Treasurer of the Western Shore under their corpo-
rate seal, so far as relates to those banks under this law,
which may refuse to accept the same.

Repealed.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

 

CHAPTER 252.

Passed March
9, 1843.

An act entitled, An act to lessen the annual expenses of
Dorchester County.

Justices to
receive $2 per
day.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act the
justice of the Orphan's Court of Dorchester county shall
be entitled to and receive the sum of two dollars for each
and every day that each justice shall attend and act in his
official capacity as justice of said court.

Officers to
receive three
fourths only
of the fees al-
lowed by law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
the lax for Dorchester county, are authorized and required,
at each and every annual levy to defray the expenses of
the county, to deduct one-fourth of the fees now allowed
by law to the sheriff, clerk of the county court and regis-
ter of wills, so that the said officers shall only receive
three-fourths of the fees now allowed by law, for services
rendered to or chargeable against said county.

Jurors to re-
ceive $1 per
day and two
cents per mile

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the pay of jurors in and
for Dorchester county, shall be one dollar per day for each
juror, and an allowance of two cents per mile for every
mile that his place of residence, shall be distant from the
E lace of holding the county court, the same to be allowed
im for going to and also returning from the court, and to
be levied, collected and paid in the same manner and at the
same lime with his per diem allowance, and he shall be en-
titled to receive mileage for coming to and reluming from
court, for each day such juror may attend court.

SEC. 4. Arid be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the sheriff summoning said jurors, to notify them to attend
on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April, and on
the first Tuesday after the last Monday in October of each
term of Dorchester county court.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the bailiffs and cri-
ers of the county court and courts of equity, and commis-
sioners of the tax, shall receive the same per diem and
