CHAP. 192.

use any one as a witness, on the part of the state, in any
proceeding under this act, such witness shall be released
from any fine incurred by participating in the violations, he
is called upon as a witness to prove.

Guilty of mis-
demeanor.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That any person acting as
door-keeper, or waiter, or any way aiding, and assisting in
the keeping or conducting of a gaming house, room, table
or place for gaming, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
for each offence be subject to a line of twenty dollars.

secutions now
pending.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That this act shall not be
construed to affect or interfere with any prosecution, now
pending in the courts of this state, but they shall be prose-
cuted under the law as it stood before the passage of this
act.

 

CHAPTER 191.

7. 1843.

A further supplement to an act passed at December session
eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter two hundred
and sixty-seven, relative to Havre-de-Grace, Mary-
land.

vested with
power to im-
pose collecti-
ons.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the collector for the town of Havre-de-Grace, be and

he is hereby invested with same powers in imposing Ins
collections that are conferred on county collectors, accom-
panied by the same restrictions, any thing in the fifteenth
section of said act to the contrary notwithstanding.

 

CHAPTER 192.

Passed March
6, 1843.

A supplement to an act entitled, An act to consolidate the
Free School fund, the State's donation and the surplus
revenue fund, so far as relates to District School number
three, in the upper district cf Caroline county, and for
other purposes.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That so much of the second section of the said
act to which this is a supplement, as requires that the oath
or affirmation of the trustees therein named, shall be ad-
ministered by the Orphan's Court, be and the same is here-
