CHAPTER 157.

CHAP. 159.

An act to change the name of Marcellus Williams, of
Prince George's county, to Henderson Williams Ma-
gruder.

Passed March
1, 1843.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of Marcellus Williams, of Prince George's
county, be, and the same is hereby changed to Henderson
Williams Magruder,

Name chan-
ged.

CHAPTER 158.

 

An act to change the place of holding the election in the
fifth election district of Baltimore county.

Passed March
2, 1842.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Baltimore county are hereby
authorized and directed to establish the place of holding
the election for the fifth election district of Baltimore coun-
ty at the most convenient and suitable place, any law to the
contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 159.

 

An act for the relief of Henrietta Maria Goldsborough, of
Howard District, Anne Arundel county.

Passed March
3, 1843.

WHEREAS it appears that said Henrietta M. Goldsbo-
rough is desirous of introducing a negro girl into this State,
and which said girl left this State in the year eighteen hun-
dred and forty-one as the property of the said Henrietta
M. Goldsborough, and has been assessed and taxed as her
property — therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be lawful for the said Henrietta M. Goldsbo-
rough to introduce into this State her negro girl Louisa,
and retain her therein as a slave, in such manner as if said
Louisa had not left this State.

Bring negro
girl Louisa,
