Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the deputy Attorney General of the State of Maryland
fer St Mary's county, be and he is hereby directed, to stay
all proceedings upon the said judgment, until from and after
the first Thursday of August term of St. Mary's county
court, eighteen hundred and forty-three.

CHAPTER 145.

A supplement to an act entitled, An act to authorize the
building of a bridge over Choptank River, in Caroline
County, passed December session eighteen hundred and
fifty-three.

WHEREAS it is represented to this General Assembly, by
the petition of a large number of citizens of said county that
great inconvenience is sustained for the want of a bridge
across Choptank river, at a place commonly called Red
Bridge — therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the Levy Court of Caroline county be, and
they are hereby authorized and required to contract for
building a bridge over the Choptank river, at a place called
and known by the name of Red Bridge in the upper district
of Caroline county; provided, the sum to be contracted for
shall not exceed one hundred and fifty dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That when said Levy Court
shall have completed and closed said contract by taking
from the party so contracting, a good and sufficient bond
for the building of a good and substantial bridge at the place
aforesaid, and when said bridge shall have been completed
and received by said Court, then the said Levy Court of
Caroline county are hereby authorized and required to levy
on the assessable property of said county the sum of one
hundred and fifty dollars as aforesaid, for the use of said con-
tractor, and to be paid over to him by the collector of the
county taxes as other cases are now paid.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any act or acts of
assembly heretofore passed, which are inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby repealed
