CHAPTER 136.

An act to lay out a School District in Saint Mary's County.

Commission-
ers to lay out
school district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners appointed under the
law establishing primary schools in St. Mary's county, or a
majority of them, are hereby directed to lay out a new
school district, number three, in the fourth election district
of said county, by adding thereto portions of school dis-
tricts numbers one and two in the same election district, as
contained within the following limits: commencing at a
point on the south east side of Mrs. Edmund Green well's
house, and running thence easterly on the right of Richard
Hayden's house, until it intersects a private road near the
said Richard Hayden's, thence north easterly with said road
until it intersects the mail stage road leading from Leonard
Town to the head of St. Clement's Bay, thence up and with
said road to the corner of Doctor Thomas I. Stone's fence,
near said stage road, and at the junction of Sheppard's
road, thence up said Sheppard's road to the corner of James
Howards fence, thence with a straight line northwardly to
William Bowles's gate on the side of the road leading from
the head of St. Clement's Bay to St. Joseph's Chapel,
thence up with the said road to the locust run, thence down
said run until it empties into St. Clement's Bay, fresh run,
thence down said run to a point opposite Elizabeth Holt's
house, thence with as straight line northwardly to the outer
gate of Joseph Dunbar, Senior, from thence with a straight
line westerly to H. G. Garner's barn, and thence with the
lines of the said school district number three, to the begin-
ning.

Commission-
ers to levy tax

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Commissioners of
the tax for Saint Mary's county, shall levy and pay to the
commissioners who may lay out the aforesaid district such
sum as compensation therefor as they may deem just and right.
