An act for closing an old road in Montgomery County, and
for declaring another Road there, a Public County Road.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Empson B. Davidson, of Montgomery
county, be and he is hereby authorized to close so much of
the Georgetown and Brookville old road, as passes through
his farm on a tract called Josephs Park, in said county.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That a road passing
on the south side of Sligo Meeting House, and intersecting
the said old road, and the Washington and Rockville Turn-
pike road, in the said county, shall henceforth be deemed a
public highway, and kept in repair as other public roads in
the said county.

An act to provide for the relief of George Ellicott, of
Howard District, of Anne Arundel County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of tax of Anne Arundel county, be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to assess
and levy on the assessable property of Anne Arundel county,
the sum of ninety-nine dollars for the use of George Elli-
cott, for repairing a bridge across the Patapsco river, at
Ilchester, in the year eighteen hundred and thirty-eight and
that the commissioners of Howard District, of Anne Arun-
del county, are also hereby authorized and empowered to
assess and levy on the assessable property of Howard Dis-

trict, the sum of sixty-six dollars, for the use of said Ellicott
for the purpose above mentioned and the commissioners of
the county and district aforesaid, shall at the time of laying
their next county rates, levy the above respective sums of
money exclusive of the commission for collecting the same;
which said assessment shall be made, levied and collected in
the same manner as other county levies, and when collected
shall be paid to the said Ellicott or his order, by the respec-
tive commissioners of the county and district aforesaid.
