CHAP. 72.

CHAPTER 70.

Passed Feb
12, 1842.

A further supplement to an act entitled, an act for the pre-
servation and repair of that part of the United States
road, lying within the limits of the State of Maryland,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-
one, chapter eighty-five.

Preamble

Whereas, it is represented to the General Assembly of
Maryland, that the tolls received on the United State road,
lying within the limits of this State, are insufficient to keep
it in repair, and that the provisions of the act passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chap-
ter fifty-two, operate unjustly and unequally, and very ma-
terially reduce the receipts for tolls on said road—there-
fore.

Repealed

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the first and fourth sections of the act
passed at December session eighteen hundred and thirty-
seven, chapter fifty-two, be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.

Additional
gate to be e-
rected

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the superintendent of
said road, be and he is hereby authorised and required to
erect an additional gate on said road within the space of
four months from the passage, of this act

 

CHAPTER 71.

An act to change the place of holding Elections, in the se-
venth or Atkinson's District, in Worcester County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the place for holding all elections, after the passage
of this act, in the seventh or Atkinson's district, in Worces-
ter county, shall be at the tenement or house, now and here-
tofore occupied as a store house, by Stephen Bounds, Es-
quire, in the said district, and all laws or parts of laws, in-
consistent with this act, be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.

An act to authorize Ellis Reynolds, former Collector of
Taxes in Cecil County, to complete his collections.

Maryland, That Ellis Reynolds, former collector of taxes
