printed in two of the daily newspapers of the city of Bal-
timore, in one paper in each county where a paper may be
published, all the laws and joint resolutions passed at the
present session, referring to the assessment and collection of
the direct tax.
And be it resolved, That such publication shall be con-
tinued for one week; and that the treasurer of the western
shore is hereby authorized to pay at the usual rate for the
same.

Resolution in favor of John N. Stewart.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer of the western shore pay to John N. Stewart
the sum of six dollars, for his services as page to this house
for three days at the commencement of the present session.

No. 48.
Resolution authorizing the Adjutant General to furnish Cap-
tain Samuel Whittington, with Arms, &c.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Adjutant General be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to deliver to Captain Samuel Whittington, of Cal-
vert county, thirty-five rifles with all necessary accoutre-
ments, upon his giving bond and security for their safe
keeping and return, whenever required to do so.

Resolution directing the Librarian to allow to David Ridge-
ly, Esquire, free use of the State's Library.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
David Ridgely of the city of Annapolis, shall be allowed
as free access to and use of the State Library as the mem-
bers of the Legislature, or the Executive, or the Judges of
the Court of Appeals.
