CHAP. 318.

CHAPTER 316.

Passed March
10, 1842.

An act to extend the time of John D. Ward, late Sheriff of
Calvert County, to complete his collections.

Time exten-
ded.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John D. Ward, late sheriff of Calvert
county, be and he is hereby authorized to collect until the
first day of June, eighteen hundred and forty-three, all fees
or public dues, fines, forfeitures and amercements, which
were placed in his hands for collection, and nil legal fees

Proviso.

due him as sheriff aforesaid; provided, that he comply in all
respects with the provisions of the act of December session
eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter two hundred and
fifty.

Relate to
Ward's lost
term of office

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall only relate
to the aforesaid Ward's last term of office.

 

CHAPTER 317.

10, 1842.

An act to extend the time of Francis Stevens, former She-
riff of Calvert County, to complete his collections.

Time exten-
ded.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Francis Stevens, late sheriff of Calvert county, be
and he is hereby authorized to collect, until the first day of
June, eighteen hundred and forty-three, all fees or public
dues, fines, forfeitures and amercements which were placed
in his hands for collection, and all legal fees due him as

sheriff aforesaid; provided, that he comply in all respects
with the provisions of the act of December session eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter two hundred and
fifty, entitled, an act to extend the time of John D. Ward,
late sheriff of Calvert county to complete his. collections.

An act to abolish the office of Judge of the Land Office for
the Eastern Shore, and for other purposes.

Repealed.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the fifth section of chapter sixty-one, pas-
sed December session seventeen hundred and ninety-five,,
