An act for the benefit of Edward Power and Edward J.
Power, of Queen Anne's County.

CHAPTER 289.
|
Preamble
|
Whereas, it is represented to this General Assembly on
behalf of Edward Power and Edward J. Power, that they
are residents of the State of Maryland; and whereas, the
said Edward Power and Edward J. Power, have become
the holders of real property in the State, hut cannot exer-
cise a legal control or disposition of the same because they
are not naturalized citizens of the State—therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Edward Power and Edward J. Power, be and they
are hereby authorized and empowered to take, hold and dis-
pose of the real property they now may have an equitable
or other claim to, within the limits of the State of Mary-
land, or which they may hereafter acquire in the same man-
ner as if the said Edward Power and Edward J. Power,
had been naturalized citizens of the United States, at the

time when their claim to such property originated; provided,
that within five years from the passage of this act they shall
have become naturalized citizens of the United States.

CHAPTER 290.

An act for the belter regulation of the pay of the State's
Agents in all Joint Stock Companies.
|

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, Thati from and after the passage of this act, the
compensation of the State's Agents in all joint stock compa-
nies, shall be one hundred dollars in lieu of their per diem
allowance, and all itinerant charges.

Repealed
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws inconsistent with
this act be and the same arc hereby repealed.
