Name and
style

of the commissioners who is named in said act, and as if
his name had been inserted in said original act.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said five commission-
ers shall be called and known by the name and style of the
Board of Commissioners for the Frederick Female Semi-
nary, and by that name and style shall hereafter make all
contracts, and do all other acts that the four commissioners
are authorised and empowered to do under said original
act.

Commission-
ers to appoint
secretary, etc

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said board of com-
missioners or a majority of them, shall have full power, and
are hereby authorized to appoint a secretary, whose duty
it shall be faithfully and properly to record under the direc-
tion of said board of commissioners or a majority of them,
in a book or books to be furnished him for that purpose, all
the proceeding of said board in the discharge of their duty
under said original act and this supplement, and the said
commissioners or a majority of them may allow such com-
pensation to such secretary For his services as may in their
judgment be right and proper, the same to be paid out of
any funds that may come into their hands and under their
control as commissioners as aforesaid and the said commis-
sioners or a majority of them at their will, as often as they
may think right and proper, remove any secretary so ap-
pointed by them, and appoint another in the place of the
one so removed, and the record of proceedings so kept by
the secretary as aforesaid, shall always be subject to the
control and under the direction and keeping of the said
board.

nish buildings

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said board of com-
missioners or a majority of them shall have full power, and
are hereby authorized, if they shall find it necessary or
deem it proper to insure the erection and completion of all
the buildings proper for said seminary, and to furnish the
same with a suitable library and philosophical apparatus, to
mortgage or otherwise pledge any funds that they may have
a right to receive under said original act, or any property
that they may purchase with the money that may properly
come into their hands as such commissioners, and any mo-
ney so raised by such mortgage or pledge, shall be faithful-
ly applied by such commissioners or a majority of them,
to carry out and fully effectuate the purposes of said origi-
nal act.

Bond

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the bond as executed by
the said John Brunner as herein before stated, shall be as
good and effectual, and as binding on him and all the other
parties thereto, and to all intents and purposes, as if the
