CHAPTER 255.

An act to allow Thomas Lusby, late Sheriff and Collector
of Kent County, further time to complete his Collections.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Thomas Lusby, late sheriff and collector of Kent
county, be and he is hereby authorized to collect until the
first January, eighteen hundred and forty-four, all fines, for-
feitures, amercements, officers fees and public dues, which
were placed in his hands for collection, and which have not
been collected, in the same manner as he could or might
have done within the time limited by law.

CHAPTER 256.

A supplement to the act entitled, an act to aid in the estab-
lishment of a Female Seminary, in Frederick City.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly
that John Brunner, of Jacob, was intended to be appointed
one of the commissioners under said act, so as to have five
commissioners instead of four, and that his name was in
fact inserted in the original draft of said act, but by some
mistake was omitted or left out of the engrossed bill, and
the said John Brunner as also the other commissioners, who
are now acting as such under the regular and proper ap-
pointment made by and under said law, being under that
impression, he the said Brunner did together with said com-
missioners, enter into bond to the State of Maryland, as re-
quired by the several sections of said act, to which this is
a supplement; and whereas, it is further represented, that it
is desirable that the said board of commissioners should
consist of five instead of four persons, so that the act or
acts of a majority may be binding—therefore.

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said John Brunner, of Jacob, be and
he is hereby appointed an additional commissioner to the
four commissioners who are now acting under said original
act, with the same powers and rights conferred on either
